Thoughts from 55+ years of being responsible for my own packing
Even when I was very young, the rule was you can only bring what you can carry. As a traveler, I’m constantly adjusting and sorting through my containers, cases, backpacks to find the best ones to support ease of accommodating my toiletries, clothes, jewelry, books/notebooks/computer/pillow. So, I can enjoy my trip without anything leaking or being too heavy/ awkward /bulky. I like to quickly sort through everything or shove it under a seat without worrying about damage. I prefer to travel light so I can pick up and walk across train tracks or run up some stairs when there is no elevator or it is broken.
Here are some of the products that have increased ease and enjoyability of my travel.

I have just started to use these and 3 of them are TSA size and the large one is fine for road trips or anything else. I like salt scrub which is very oily, and purple shampoo. P2 Power Probiotic Products: I travel with the allergy spray and am very grateful to have it when I'm in a moldy room. Very essential when traveling to cabins and in humid countries. The skin spray is super healing when a rash or yeast is starting up.

My general mode of travel, roller case and backpack with computer, pillow, change of clothes, journal, book, makeup and toiletries. If my suitcase doesn’t make it, I can travel with what’s in the backpack (35 cubic L). I traveled 3 summer weeks in Europe with just this, my son used the 45 cubic L pack so I will admit a few of my items might have borrowed some space. My favorite packing cubes are from Eagle Creek. There are a lot of great packing cubes these days and I’ve tried a few brands; I like them just as long as they come with a strap for hanging and can be washed without too much fraying. I don’t usually unpack, just put the cubes in cubbies, hooks or hangers.

My favorite purses are made by Baggallini. I have one that is approximately like the 8.5 X 8.5 X 2” and it will hold a water bottle, compact umbrella, tour book, sweater, and has multiple pockets for purse, maps, phone, credit cards/ID/passport.
